The result is a delicious dinner that can be served for a party.
For a quick and easy Thanksgiving dinner, this turkey recipe will do.
Ingredients 1 large turkey, skin-on 1 onion, chopped 1 large carrot, chopped 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 teaspoon dried thyme 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 teaspoon ground black pepper 2 cups mashed potatoes 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese 2 cups water 1/4 cup brown sugar 2 cups milk 1 cup cheddar or Parmesan cheese, divided Directions Place turkey, onion, carrot, garlic and thyme in a large pot over medium-high heat.
Cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently until tender.
Remove from heat.
Remove onion and carrot and set aside.
In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, ground black peppercorns and salt.
Add turkey, onions and carrots to the pot.
Stir to coat.
Cook, uncovered, for 10 minutes, until vegetables are tender.
Add water and potatoes and cook, uncovered for 10 more minutes.
Remove lid and set the turkey on top of the vegetables.
Add cheddar, cheese and water and cook until cheese is melted and the potatoes are tender, about 5 minutes.
